blackbee CEO Carina Röllig encourages young female founders

Our founder and CEO, Carina Röllig, is campaigning for young female founders. It was in a speech for the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, that she addressed those young businesswomen. She advised that, “To be a successful founder, you should bring your self-confidence along, have a clear vision and step bravely into the future”. It is also important that founding females be so convinced of their own idea and vision that they can then convince others as well.

Under the hashtag #StarkeFrauenStarkeWirtschaft, the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy is supporting female entrepreneurs. Female founders receive a forum to direct their inspiring words towards a wide audience and to encourage them to become founders themselves. Within the framework of the program, Federal Minister of Economic Affairs Brigitte Zypries also invites female entrepreneurs to take part in panel discussions and congresses such as “Young ICT” (Information and Communications Technology).

More courage for founding: Founder and CEO of Webdata Solutions Carina Röllig is participating in the program of Young ICT from the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. There, she is encouraging young businesswomen to realise their visions.

The share of founding females in the tech-scene is still small

Carina Röllig has worked since 2010 with Sabine Maßmann and Dr. Hanna Köpcke, who developed the unique technology of blackbee. blackbee collects product data from the Internet, structures it and serves retailers and manufacturers as a basis for successful price management. In 2012, the company Webdata Solutions, which the three visionaries founded together, resulted from this technology. Since 2016, Webdata Solutions has been part of the Entrepreneurial Winning Women program. The program, launched by the consulting firm EY, links international businesses run by women and supports them with mentors.

Europe-wide, the share of women founders in the tech-scene is only 14.7 percent, as determined by the European Start Up Monitor. According to a study by the European Commission, women can look positively towards becoming founders: If women were positioned more strongly in the digital market, they could increase the gross domestic product across Europe by nine billion euros.

This opportunity has also been recognised by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. This will ensure that the economy in Germany grows and galvanises young women, among others, to become founders. To this end, the Federal Ministry  is using successful role models who have already taken this courageous step. Webdata Solutions is thankful for this wonderful platform.
