blackbee’s bee sponsorship: Our honey has arrived!

A good year and a half ago, we established a bee sponsorship initiative with Stadtbienen e.V.. Our bees have been working hard since then, collecting a variety of pollen and fresh nectar.
Last summer we reported what our bee swarm Priscilla was up to and how it was faring. Time has since flown by and we can now proudly announce that our bees are developing magnificently. The changeable weather over springtime does not seem to have disturbed them. It actually seems to have done them good, since our little bees have been busily producing new honey.

News on blackbee’s bee sponsorship

Since the spring, our bee group Priscilla has been swarming out and collecting a large amount of nectar and pollen from the surrounding fruit trees and meadows in their home of Berlin-Dahlen. The first harvest of the year has now been completed and Stadtbienen e.V. has sent us some samples of the honey from our bees. Of course, we have already tasted it and can reveal here that our honey tastes just great!

Freshly arrived, The first honey from our busy bees, Priscilla, has been collected. And we’ve already enjoyed a taster!

Did you know?

Bees fly at up to 30 km/h and can travel a distance of up to 3 km in their search for food.
Also, bees do not collect nectar and pollen over their entire life. After first hatching, they begin as worker bees within the hive. Only shortly before their death do they become a collector bee and supply the hive with fresh nectar and pollen.
