Since 2002, the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg has been biannually hosting Industry Day in Information Technology (IT² Day). The IT² Day is a joint initiative between the University Centre for Information Technology (UZI), the IHK Halle-Dessau and the IT Cluster of Central Germany, with the aim of creating a platform for regular contacts between IT companies, university employees and students, as well as initiating new collaborations.
blackbee’s presentation on “Big Data Matching”
The participants of the first IT² Day of 2018, held on 8th May, were anticipating exciting lectures on current research findings and industry solutions from companies, as well as opportunities to discuss specific technical problems and interests. For the first time, blackbee has also been represented. Our founder and CTO Dr. Hanna Köpcke spoke on the topic of “Big Data Matching – Challenges in Online Market Analysis” to numerous students, university members and participants from other regional IT companies. She entertainingly presented problems and solutions associated with acquiring and optimising product data in eCommerce on the basis of practical examples. The programme also included lectures on eHumanities, physics and bioinformatics, as well as other exciting applications from industry.
We thank the organisers at the University of Halle for the interesting afternoon and all the participants for their positive feedback and interest in blackbee.
