Entering a new era of market analysis with blackbee Insights

Our revamped competitive intelligence suite blackbee Insights has been available since the beginning of 2019. The new tool brings together all of the previous blackbee modules, making it much easier to implement competition and market analyses. In addition, special attention was paid to the user-friendliness and an attractive user experience when developing the new tool. See the benefits of blackbee Insights for yourself!

Our blackbee Pricing Report: price changes in German DIY E-Commerce

The German market for DIY products is booming. That’s why we took a closer look at this e-commerce growth driver in this year’s blackbee Insights Pricing Report.

For years now, the online market for home improvement products has been growing faster than the brick-and-mortar trade. This major shift from offline business to e-commerce requires sustainable price management that can keep up with the dynamic competition. For this reason, we focused on the pricing strategies of the three largest German multichannel DIY stores and Google Shopping over the four summer months from May to August 2019. Our market analysis tool blackbee Insights evaluated a total of more than 1.2 million offers. The conclusion: Most retailers don’t take advantage of the opportunities offered by active pricing.

Six-figure grant for blackbee’s image recognition project

The future is now! Our cooperation project “Visual Product Matching (VIP)” with Leipzig University has been underway since October. For its implementation, we’re receiving a remarkable six-figure grant from the Development Bank of Saxony (SAB). In the years 2020-2022, we’ll continue to develop our competitive intelligence suite blackbee together. In doing so, we’re creating a state-of-the-art solution for image-based product matching – the precise assignment of two sets of data to the same product. In the future, this will make it possible to compare items that can’t be captured using standard text matching.

Carina is a role-model entrepreneur of “enterprising WOMEN”

Put women in power – the initiative enterprising WOMEN launched by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) wants to do just that. Since January 2019, our founder and managing director Carina Röllig has been involved in the initiative and gives girls and women of all ages insights into professional independence. She talks to participants about opportunities and challenges associated with self-employment and shares personal experiences from her daily work.
